International Women's Day

Each and every one of us has unique gifts that can improve the world as we know it – farmers, scientists, mothers, missionaries, nurses, teachers, etc. What a wonderful thing to take the time to reflect on how the smallest acts can have an eternal impact. Lindsay Stevens Eggers’, President & COO of Stevens Worldwide Van Lines, view on International Women’s day perfectly reflects her zest for life and down to Earth values. On top of being the first female President of a 113 year old international moving and storage company Lindsay is also a devoted mother, wife and leader in her community.

Each and every one of us has unique gifts that can improve the world as we know it – farmers, scientists, mothers, missionaries, nurses, teachers, etc. What a wonderful thing to take the time to reflect on how the smallest acts can have an eternal impact.

When asked how do you handle it all? Lindsay emphasized her “it takes a village” mentality and her strong belief system. “Our family’s village consists of the following components – first and foremost is our Faith and reliance on God’s will, my husband’s support, the helping hands and words of encouragement from my parents, the Stevens Team that supports me both in and out of the office and the “angels” we have as nearby neighbors that help us out whenever we need them!” But it’s evident that Lindsay’s most cherished village members are her two children, Audrey and Garrett. “It’s amazing how playing an intense game of marbles with my 7 year old or listening to my 8 year old daughter read chapter books brings what matters most back to light.” She also credits the ability to prioritize as a key to success as a working mother, “I was fortunate to work at Accenture right out of college and they were strong supporters of Women in the Workplace. At one of their events they had a panel of female partners answer questions relating to work/life balance – I distinctly remember one of the partners saying prioritize what matters most to you as a wife and parent, you can’t do it all so pick out what you want to do and have your “village” help with the other components.”

Her strong beliefs and positive attitude also play a large role in her success as a business woman. Although she’s not one to memorize movie lines or quote famous philosophers Lindsay recalls her favorite bible verse, “TRUST In the Lord with All Your Heart”, as her daily reminder she is on the right track.

On this day of celebrating the successes and contributions of all women across the world Lindsay stands out as a glowing example of a strong woman that has inspired and will inspire many future generations of young women to come.
