The Center for Family Business at Saginaw Valley State University is now called the Stevens Center for Family Business. The naming is due to the involvement and contributions of Julie and Morrison Stevens Sr.
Julie and Morrison Stevens have been very involved with the development and growth of the Center for Family Business since its beginnings in 1999 and recently contributed the lead gift to establish an endowment fund for the organization.
The Stevens Center for Family offers seminars, special programs, affinity groups, networking opportunities and a resource center for family-owned businesses in the mid-Michigan area.
Stevens Worldwide Van Lines is a fifth generation family business, with members of the fourth and fifth generations of the founder currently in a variety of leadership roles. Morrison Stevens Sr. is the president and chief executive officer. Three of Julie and Morrison Stevens Sr.’s children also hold key roles in the business: Morrison Stevens, Jr., is vice president of the commercial agency division; Lindsay Egger is vice president of finance; and Peter Stevens is regional sales manager for Davi & Valenti/Stevens Movers in Sarasota, Fla.
