Cleveland Mover Honored as Stevens’ Professional Van Operator of the Year

Stevens Worldwide Van Lines owner-operator Shaw McSweeney recently was named as the company’s “Professional Van Operator of the Year” for 2009.

McSweeney, who works for the Stevens company-owned agency in Cleveland, Ohio, also was second place winner of the company’s 2009 Fourth Quarter Professional Van Operator Awards.

Achieving the Professional Van Operator of the Year status means that McSweeney had received exceptional scores on Stevens’ comprehensive “Driver Rating System.” The rating system tracks safety, customer service, number of shipments and weight hauled and claims. Stevens has more than 150 company professional van operators and brokders, as well as professional van operators at nearly 150 agents across the country.

McSweeney, a father of two and lifetime Cleveland area resident, started working for Stevens during summers while attending the University of Toledo and became a Stevens owner-operator in 1999. He grew up around the moving business, helping his father, who also was a professional van operator, from the time he was 12 years old. After graduating from college, he purchased a truck from his father and started his own career in the moving and storage business.

In 2009, McSweeney provided services to 77 moving customers and was consistently rated extremely high on customer satisfaction and had a very minimal number of claims.
