Technology company moving to San Francisco

Lithium Technologies isn't moving very far, but its relocation could mean big changes for the company. Lithium recently announced plans to leave its headquarters in Emeryville, California, for a facility in San Francisco. In a statement, officials said that the firm will be the primary occupant of the Standard Oil Building.

Lithium management was motivated to leave Emeryville to access San Francisco's sizable workforce. The company's plans follow a recent trend within the tech industry. The Wall Street Journal recently noted that an increasing number of technology companies are moving out of state to attract new talent.

Finding a new location is usually easy - many businesses typically move to large metropolitan areas with sizable populations. The actual relocation process can be difficult, however, as companies must quickly leave one facility and open its new offices before it can start bringing new workers.
