Houston energy company plans in-state move

By the end of 2014, executives with Houston energy company Southwestern Energy intend to relocate from their present address to an office building in Springwoods Village, a Texas-based community roughly 30 miles north of the city. According to the Houston Business Journal, company officials announced they will relocate their central headquarters to a 500,000-square-foot property in Springwoods Village.

"Our headquarters relocated to Houston in 2000 and since that time the company has experienced tremendous growth," company CFO Craig Owen told the newspaper.

Southwestern Energy representatives noted that they plan to bring 1,000 staff members to Springwoods Village.

A corporate relocation is a step-by-step process, and after company officials find the ideal property to house their central operations, these leaders will likely need to determine how to bring employees and their possessions to a new location.
