Sigma solutions, a Texas-based information technology company, will move its headquarters to downtown San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Business Journal. Although the company is not moving out of state, the relocation is an important and significant one for the organization.
Bolstered by a $500,000 economic development grant from the San Antonio City Council, Sigma hopes it will be able to expand operations and add employees. In exchange for the money, Sigma will have to pay its staff an average salary of $70,000 and remain at its new location for 10 years, according to the news source.
The company has been growing rapidly, and certain officials in San Antonio believe having it downtown could help the city attract more jobs and continue to develop its tech sector.
"We are pleased to welcome Sigma Solutions to downtown San Antonio," said Mayor Julian Castro. "This homegrown technology company is one of the fastest-growing private companies in San Antonio and a leader in the emerging area of cloud services."
In complicated moves involving technological and delicate equipment, the use of a corporate relocation company can help make the move as simple and smooth as possible.
