JE Pistons, a maker of forged pistons and other engine parts, is moving its manufacturing center to Mentor, Ohio, to expand its capabilities and be closer to its customers.
"After successfully meeting our goal of launching Midwest piston production in the second quarter of 2012, our team continued to evaluate the major needs of our customers," said Bob Hange, president of Performance Motorsports, the parent company of JE Pistons.
Perhaps the biggest benefit of the move is the ability it affords the company for faster, less expensive deliveries.
The company predicts that over 70 percent of its U.S. customers will experience reduced delivery time in addition to 25 percent lower shipping costs.
Although the move will likely be beneficial, it will involve some serious organization. Beginning in November 2012, the relocation will require heavy, expensive tools, including more than 75 computer numerical control (CNC) machines and supporting equipment.
With complicated and labor-intensive moves like this one, the use of professional relocation movers can help keep everything on track. Employing out of state movers can lead to a lightning-fast, streamlined relocation.
