  • July 06, 2010

Stevens Worldwide Van Lines and its divisions have met the standards of an international quality management organization and is ISO 9001:2008 certified.

Those Stevens' entities that fall under the scop of the ISO certification include: Stevens Worldwide Van Lines, which is the moving and storage entity; Stevens International Forwarders, which handles international moves and general commodities shipments; and Stevens Records Management in Waterford, Mich., and Toledo, Ohio.

Stevens first acquired ISO 9001 certfication in 2001 and has maintained a level of the certification since. However, this is the first time that Stevens Records Management in Toledo has been part of the scope.

Stevens has been developing and enhancing the Toledo records management division for the past few years.

ISO 9001 is a quality management standard. Specifically, ISO 9001:2008 specifies requirements for a company's management system where the organization demonstrates its ability to consistently provide a product or service that meets customer standards as well as statutory and regulatory requirements and works to enhance customer satisfaction through continual improvement and regulations.

For Stevens and its divisions, the ISO 9001:2008 certification applies to the entire organzation including operations, sales, billing administration and customer satisfaction.

To become ISO certified, Stevens had to undergo reviews and audits by representatives from NSF International Strategic Registrations, Ltd., (NSF-ISR.) Stevens also conducts regular internal audits and continuous internal monitoring and evaluation of quality measures.

The ISO 9001:2008 certification is valid for three years if the company maintains all of the qualifications and standards.
